Self-Diagnosis Questionnaire for Endometriosis

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and other symptoms. Diagnosis is difficult since no reliable non-invasive test exists, and symptoms vary in severity. A self-assessment can help you check your symptoms and share results with your healthcare provider for better evaluation.

Endometriosis Self-Assessment Questionnaire (ESAT)

Instructions: Select the option that best applies to you. This tool is only for awareness, not diagnosis. Please share your responses with your gynaecologist for further evaluation.

Key Components of the Endometriosis Self-Assessment Tool (ESAT):

Developed with 21 questions covering symptoms across four areas:

Scoring: A cutoff score of 50  points indicates higher likelihood of endometriosis.

Sensitivity and Specificity: Sensitivity ~76%, specificity ~72% in distinguishing endometriosis from non-endometriosis.

Purpose: To help women recognize abnormal symptoms and decide if they should seek medical advice.
Not a diagnostic tool, but a preliminary screening aid.
